Those are some really nicely painted nids!

The army composition looks decent aswell, pero Julian can best tell you that.

As for cost they will easily sell for upward of £250

it looks like 80% of a decent list, as to price no idea, id pay for full set for something like this, however id prefer a more drastic paint scheme if i was gonna buy it. 180ish sounds fair if ebay in nature.

so your suggesting you would need to pay more. if purchased to order sure, but from ebay unless its a masterpiece rarely it goes for price.

All it needs is 1 tervigon and a fair few extra termagants and you're on your way Wink

Ok here is a summary i did on miniwargaming of each tyranid unit and how i'd rate them out of 10. It should guide you in what i think is worth buying, and what i think is a total waste of money/time/points. Also you are incredibly brave if you plan in starting another horde army Razz

    HQs
    The Hive Tyrant 8
If winged, is the only reliable source for taking down most fliers. 2 Twin linked brainleech worms tends to be the best way to go most of the time.

    The Swarmlord 7
Great combat beast but with a points cost to match. Only ever consider in 2k games and up

    Tyrant Guard 7
Always use at least 1 with a walking Tyrant/Swarmlord. Good for screening/transferring wounds

    Tervigon 9
Almost essential to include at least 1 of these in the army; preferably as a troop choice.

    Prime 9
Fantastic for its points if built for close combat

    Parasite of Mortrex 5
    Very situational and slightly expensive

    Elites
    Hive Guard 9
Best way to deal with most vehicles, and fliers if you get the hit ignoring their jink save

    Lictors 2
The elite slots have a lot of good choices to be wasting on this contradictory unit. It begs for you to keep a small army in deep strike to benefit from its rules, but you need to make sure you fail their reserve rolls, pass the lictors and then have the lictor survive a whole turn. They also offer no threat themselves when on the table

    Deathleaper 5
Expensive, but is a decent way in clamping down a psyker by deducting his leadership. Also good for granting a last minute linebreaker victory point

    Venomthrope 4
Cover saves are easy to gain now with monstrous creatures from intervening models and area terrain. Also not as useful to use with the dangerous terrain nerf (a nerf in this case)

    Zoanthrope 8
Good cheap way of dealing with AV14 and adding extra synapse

    The Doom of Malan'Tai 10
Almost mandatory to include this unit within a mycetic spore. Extremely cheap for its potential, and a good way to draw S8, 9 and 10 weapons away from your monstrous creatures

    Pyrovore 2
Completely redundant unless you know your opponent is using a horde army and you deep strike a unit from a mycetic spore. Even then there are far more better options that can be taken

    Ymgarl Stealers 7
Great scare factor, and potential for taking out a crucial unit early on in the game. Although they tend to be a suicidal unit

    Troops
    Warrior brood 6
Decent, but you’d want to keep them cheap in fear of them being insta-killed

    Genestealers 6
Broodlord is a great source for dealing with characters when using hypnotic gaze, but the unit can get quite expensive when upgraded. This coupled with overwatch and not being able to assault from reserves makes them less viable in my books

    Termagaunts 9
Standard meat shield for your monstrous creatures, capturing objectives (within terrain if out of synapse), and tar pitting units in combat

    Hormagaunt 8
Great when given poison attacks, but they can be a little pricy so keep them safe. Although if even a few reach combat, they can deliver a lot of attacks and even more so if raged

    Rippers 4
Can’t score, can’t contest, can’t gain linebreaker and too expensive to use for tarpitting

    Fast Attack
    Shrike Brood 7
Great for close combat if given boneswords and lashwhips, but extremely expensive and can’t take a hit. If enough survive and are played well they can be game changing, but is usually very difficult to pull off

    Ravener Brood 6
Beast rule has been given a buff, but the fact that they can’t be given poison attacks and can’t take a hit makes them fall back in my books

    Sky Slasher Swarm 3
Far too expensive for what they can deliver. Also you would always want to keep them within synapse so that they don’t eat each other, which can limit your extra movement if you don’t build your list around it

    Gargoyle brood 7
Nice and cheap meat shield for your shrikes / winged tyrant. Good distraction for flanking, and not bad against high toughness units with their special auto wound rule

    Harpy 7
Fliers are very powerful at the moment but this probably won’t seem so great when more armies gain easier access to skyfire

    Spore Mines 1
Utterly pointless waste of time that very rarely works as well as you hoped it will

    Heavy Support
    Carnifex Brood 6
Quite expensive, and should probably only ever be thought of using with 2 twin linked brainleech worms

    Old One Eye 5
Decent on paper, but is far too overpriced and will unlikely gain its points back in any game

    Biovore brood 6
Decent cheap heavy support choice, but the major flaw is their low leadership. Therefore as a result you would want to keep them trailing behind at the back of the synapse bubble so that you can choose who they target

    Trygon 8
Good for its price, although tends to be a huge fire magnet the moment it makes an appearance

    Mawloc 7
Decent now in 6th ed with more armies driving away from mechanised lists. Good too as a fire magnet if deep struck in with other threats

    Tyrannofex 8
Best kept vanilla as it’s expensive enough as it is. Also more resilient in combat with the power weapon nerf.

    Transport
    Mycetic Spore 8
Very reliable source of deep striking units, but once on the table they rarely get to do all that much

    It actually costs £212.50 total

    - 1 tyranid battle force
    - 1 hive tyrant
    - 2 trygon/mawloc kits
    - 1 carnifex

Whatever it is, it shouldn't cost you much more than that.

Remember, GW constantly raise their prices so it probably cost the guy less at the time of when he bought them.

From what I have seen on Ebay, anything that is painted badly tends to go for at least half of the original retail price, anything painted to an average standard tends to retain it's value and maybe sell for a bit more, but if it is well painted it sells for at least double the original retail price.
I would say rightly or wrongly the guy would be looking for at least £400-£500. If he is selling it at around £300 or less it will sell instantly.
I saw a badly painted Space Marine army on ebay of about 1500pts listed for £400 starting bid, and they were of a homebrew colour scheme.

People are paying ridiculous amount for painted armies.

That's not too bad in my opinion. It really depends on if you are willing to pay for it, and willing to ask him how he painted the models because you're going to have to paint another 100 termagants in the same way haha

Btw it's only about 1200pts of models, (unless you upgrade them to the teeth, which is not the way forward in my opinion lol) so you are going to need to add to it a bit to make it a 1500pts army.

thats a fair price tbh! A little on the cheap side considering the man hours he has put in to achieve the beautifully painted army. But as Julian says you have to paint many more the same Sad
